This article by Steen and Nauta asks the question, which role Research and Technology Organizations (RTOs) might play in bridging the gap between fundamental research in academia and applied research, development and deployment. Bother researcher reviewed relevant literature in order to identify and discuss the potential advantages and disadvantages of SE, and conducted a case study of one SE initiative within a RTO to understand the advantages and disadvantages of SE in practice.

On 25 March 2019 at 16:00 CET, in the next HDCA Webinar organized by the Technology, Innovation and Design thematic group, Marc Steen will present a tool that was developed in the JERRI project and can help to promote and support Responsible Innovation in organizations and companies: the "Societal and Ethical Impact Canvas".
